A critical step in the incident management process is understanding the downstream impacts of issues within your data pipelines. Bigeye will automatically analyze the downstream lineage graph from any Issue or Incident and summarize it so responders can easily understand and act on it.

Impact Analysis includes:

• Downstream reports (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)
• Downstream tables (e.g. in Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
• Downstream table owners

Merging Downstream Issues

When managing an incident sometimes the problem has already started propagating down your pipeline. In this case it's ideal to pull in all relevant downstream issues into the incident object so they can be managed together.

After clicking "Review and merge" in the right-hand pane, review the suggested Issues to be merged.

After confirmation, the downstream issues will be pulled into the incident.

Now instead of managing each individual issue, the responder can manage the incident itself.

Automatic Issue and Incident Priority

Issue and Incident priority will be initially set big Bigeye based on the number of downstream objects affected. This setting can be manually adjusted based on the assessment of the responder.
