In-cloud setup

In addition to our SaaS offering, you can set up Bigeye inside of your cloud. When set up in AWS, the in-cloud installation takes about 90 minutes, during which we will walk you through setting up all the necessary resources, check connectivity, and connect Bigeye to your warehouse.
You can find a general outline of what's needed for an in-cloud AWS setup below, and reach out to us for more information at [email protected]

Pre-install requirements

Please have the following ready before emailing to schedule your installation call.

  1. Locate your AWS Account ID and make sure you have permissions to create resources in your VPC
  2. Collect all the information necessary to connect your warehouse
  3. Create a new read-only account on your warehouse

Scheduling the installation call

Let’s schedule a time to get you set up! Before we schedule, email us at [email protected] with the following:

  1. Your AWS Account ID
  2. The vendor of your data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
  3. The approximate number of tables you’ll deploy Bigeye on (e.g. 1-10, 10-100, 100-1000, 1000+)
  4. (Optional) Email addresses to add to a private Slack Support channel

During the installation call

Prior to the call, we will send you our AWS CloudFormation template, which will allow you to create a stack with everything that Bigeye needs to run.

Bigeye's stack consists of:

  1. An ECS cluster running multiple services
  2. A MySQL database for application data
  3. An EC2 load balancer pointing to the ECS service

During the call, we’ll make sure the stack was set up correctly. Then we will navigate to Bigeye's web interface from the DNS name associated with the created load balancer, complete setup through the prompts within Bigeye, and finally test the warehouse connection.
